In my last official act as Webelos Den Leader, I am proud to announce that my den has crossed over to Boy Scouts.
This is no small feat. Anyone who has been a scout leader knows how difficult this is. Kids are involved in so many activities these days that keeping them involved in scouting is a real challenge. It wasn’t all my doing and I would thank those that helped.
Thank you to the parents who kept bringing their boys to the meetings, and kept them motivated and focused. A special thank you to the dads who helped run the program, teaching classes and wearing the uniform. You gave so much more than you think.
Thank you to the leaders at Pack 95 who keep the pack going and for presenting a great program to all the boys. Thanks for having my back.
Thank you to all the parents at Pack 95. When we asked you to serve you did. Whatever we asked you to do, you did. Thank you for doing it without a complaint. Five years in the Pack and I never had an issue with a single parent. That is pretty remarkable. Talk to other people in other packs and you’ll understand. You made my job easy.
And most importantly to the boys in the Webelos 2 den, thank you for letting me guide you and serve you. It has been an honor and a pleasure to be with you these years. You will know what I mean one day when you are an adult and you look down and see the Arrow of Light knot on your uniform and your own son is bouncing off the wall because he got his first uniform with that orange scarf.
Now it is your time. It is time for me to get our of your way and for you to lead.
Webelos II Leader, Proud Father
