The pack took a hike at Red Mountain Park today to kick off our summertime activities program. This is a great way to keep the families active in scouts who can’t quite get enough Cub Scouting. For those cubs who attend one of our events in June, one in July and one in August will receive the Summertime Activity pin.

We had a small group show up but every den but one was represented and we even had a little brother who made it all the way to Haskell’s Hideaway, one of the tree houses on top of Red Mountain. It also happened to be National Trails Day. The park was full of visitors.

Some of our Cubs will be heading to the USS Alabama on Saturday and we will have one more opportunity in June to qualify for the pin. We will be at Vulcan on June 24 at 10 am for a scavenger hunt.

Thanks to everyone who showed up and we look forward to the rest of our summertime activities.
