Why go to camp? There are two BIG benefits to you and your Cub Scout:

  • Only $65 pays for one week of structured activities in the summer.
  • Rank advancement assistance is tremendous.  For example:
    • New Bear Cubs have 84 “tasks” to complete (grouped into 24 “Achievements”).
      • Approximately 40% of the “tasks” are completed at camp.
      • 8 belt loops can be earned during camp.
      • 12 arrow point electives will be achieved.

On Thursday, I registered my son Ethan for Cub Scout Summer Camp.  I also registered myself as a “Walking Den Leader.”  I plan to attend all five days on behalf of Pack 95.  If you can volunteer a day to help as a “Walking Leader,” that’s great.  If you cannot, that’s also OK.  Your child’s presence is what matters most.  Ethan would love for his friends to attend. Things that you must do to register include:

1)  Complete the Camp Registration Form.  1 page.  Easy.
2)  Complete the BSA Medical Record.

  • Include copy of your health insurance card (or declare No Insurance)
  • Include dates of immunization.
  • The Council Name is: Greater Alabama
  • The Pack Number is: 3095

3)  Write a check payable to “BSA.”
4)  Mail your forms and payment.

I completed my registration at the Greater Alabama BSA headquarters at Liberty Park.  The BSA does NOT require a copy of the “Blue Form” from you Pediatrician.  So, completing the BSA Medical record is easy and takes very little time.

If you want to talk to me about camp (it will also be my first time to attend a Cub Scout camp), please contact me at 205-281-0383 or email me at:

I look forward to having a great week with Pack 95 campers this summer.  Come on, join us!
