Cub Scout Day Camp 2011 is in the books and we had a great time this year. The weather cooperated and even thought it was very hot, it wasn’t has hot as it could have been. Even the rain stayed away.

A special thanks to Chris Chapman for being the head cheerleader and organizer to get Pack 95 to camp. I don’t believe anyone went last year but we had a pretty good crowd this year which included not only the boys but a bunch of parents who without their help onsite we could not have attended. Thanks to all of you who attended.

The kids had a great time but the greatest benefit could have been to the parents. If I had to guess, Bears in attendance probably knocked off 60-70% of Bear requirements at camp alone. With a little push they could easily get their Bear award this fall letting them work on Arrow points or other achievements the rest of the year.

Believe it or not it is not too early to start planning for next year. If you sell a certain amount of popcorn during this fall’s Popcorn Fundraiser, your fee for the camp will be paid for. We had one cub who did this.

Check out the photos on the website and there are a couple of short videos from the camp at our YouTube page. This was a great experience and once we rehydrate we’ll start planning for next year.
