On Sunday, May 7, Pack 95 ended a great scout year by having our annual Moving Up ceremony. This is when all of our cubs, regardless of whether they earned their rank or not, moved up to next year’s den. Bears became Webelos and get the opportunity to wear the scout khaki uniforms. Wolves became Bears, Tigers became Wolves and our Lions are now Tigers and get a full cub scout uniform with an orange neckerchief.
The first cubs in the pack to earn their rank, earned them back in February and since then we have had a steady stream of recipients. We awarded the rest at this pack meeting and I am happy to say that most of the pack earned their rank advancement. I am very proud of them. I know they have been working hard all year.
We are now focused on the end of the school year and early summer vacations for some. Even though the den meetings are done for awhile, the pack is still moving forward. We will have events all summer for those that want to stay involved and potentially earn their summertime activity pin. Our first activities include a hike at Red Mountain Park on June 3 at 9 am. A trip to the USS Alabama on June 10-11 and a scavenger hunt at Vulcan Park on June 24 at 10 am. More info on the rest of the summer activities to come.
For those with a busy summer, make plans to attend the first meeting of the pack, tentatively planned for August 13.
Congratulations to all our scouts and special thanks to the volunteers and parents who made this last year a great one!
